How the AI Readiness Check works

Transparent scoring beats black-box quizzes. This page explains what the free check measures, how stages are assigned, and what we deliberately do not claim. We are an early-stage consultancy—we do not publish a peer benchmark index like research institutions; your result is compared to your own answers and our adoption framework, not to a database of client logos.

What it is

  • 25 questions in five sections (16 scored for stage + 9 personalisation/context, including industry): priorities, current AI use, one priority workflow, safeguards (including customer-facing exposure, IT governance, external pressure), timing and barriers.
  • Safeguards use eight scored inputs (max 32 points); overall readiness = total ÷ 64 × 100.
  • About seven minutes for most respondents; progress is stored in your browser session only until you finish.
  • Full report on screen immediately after you submit—priorities, strengths, a matched use case, and a thirty-day plan. Print or save as PDF.
  • Indicative only—not a security audit, legal review, privacy assessment, or compliance sign-off.

Three dimension scores

Each dimension is a weighted percentage from your answers (not a industry benchmark).

  • Adoption — breadth of use, training, sharing good practice, leadership signal.
  • Safeguards — approved accounts, policy clarity, human review, sources, incident handling.
  • Workflow readiness — consistency on your chosen task, ownership, baseline measurement, knowledge access.

Adoption stages (0–3)

An overall score maps to a base stage. Cap rules can lower the stage when risk patterns appear—for example unmanaged data in personal tools without review—so a high score cannot mask an urgent safeguard gap.

Stage Name Typical meaning
0 Unmanaged Limited or invisible use; urgent to establish visibility and minimum safeguards before scaling.
1 Enabled individuals Some people benefit; uneven skills and weak shared rules—focus on standards and review.
2 Team standards Shared practice emerging; deepen workflow integration and measurement on priority tasks.
3 Embedded-ready Strong scores plus ownership and baseline on the priority workflow—candidates for governed scale.

From one workflow to atomic steps

The free check asks you to pick one priority workflow (for example follow-ups, proposals, or reporting). That is the starting point—not a full company audit. When leaders need team evidence, our optional Adoption Assessment runs the same idea at depth: map how work actually runs, break it into steps, score adoption and safeguards, then prioritise where AI belongs in the steps you already use.

Example: “Follow up after a sales call” is not one task. It might be:

  1. Open the CRM and find the meeting record
  2. Read notes and agreed actions
  3. Draft a follow-up email
  4. Check facts and tone
  5. Send and log the next step

The check surfaces which workflow matters to you. The Assessment validates time per step, tools, review points, and whether AI can help without skipping human approval—see how we audit workflows on the Assessment page.

Priorities and use case matching

Flag patterns from your answers (e.g. no review, personal accounts with sensitive data, no owner) rank into findings with “why it matters” and a suggested first step. A use case is matched to your function and priority task from a curated library—what AI could do, what stays human, safeguard level, and how to start small.

Data and follow-up

The check runs in your browser. We do not require contact details to see your report. If you optionally submit your details, we may use them to respond when you ask—see our privacy notice (PDPA-oriented; not legal advice). For APAC delivery we set expectations for cross-border processing in proposals when relevant.
